Design / Material 4.3/5
The K-3817-0 Memoirs Stately is a very retro looking toilet when compared to modern toilets. The edge of the cistern has a cornice around the edge, and the toilet bowl sits atop a pedestal. Although the look may be traditional, the materials and the technology used in the manufacture of the toilet are right up to date.
Having a lever trip mechanism, together with an elongated bowl, together with the height of the toilet seat makes the Memoirs Stately an ADA compliant toilet.
Flushing System
The Memoirs Stately uses Kohler’s AquaPiston technology for its single action flushing. This technology uses a strong siphon to increase the delivery pressure which is delivered all around the rim of the toilet. This gives a stronger cleaning force while using less water.
Cleaning
The vitreous enamel material used in the manufacture of the toilet, which includes a fully glazed 2 1/8” trap way, combined with the higher pressure flushing action, gives the Memoirs Stately a highly effective cleaning action.
Consumption
As the Memoirs Stately uses only 1.28 gallons per flush, which is 20% less water than federally recommended 1.6 gallons per flush, it passes the EPA Water Sense certification. This means that in certain areas, users of Water Sense
appliances are eligible for rebates on their water bills. You can check here to see if your utility company is a partner in the scheme.
Ease of Installation
The toilet uses a standard 12” rough in. The installation is quite straightforward and follows the same steps as most other toilets. The only area that particular attention needs to be paid is in making sure that the separate cistern is level. This is leveled by adjusting the tightness of the three mounting bolts. Care must be taken to not over tighten when trying to get the level.

Overall 4.5/5
The KOHLER K-3817-0 Memoirs is a very good choice if you prefer a more traditional look to your toilet, but still keep the benefits of modern technology in the reduced water consumption and improved flushing design.

There is a standard height version available. Model # K-3819-0. Why wouldn’t you mention that instead of saying that the height may be uncomforatble for shorter people?
Hi,
I have read that the bowl in this toilet is shallow and that users experience a lot of “splash back” mess with this model. How does it compare with Kohler’s Santa Rosa model?
This definitely be the next preference. You are perfect, theme team. I Really enjoy the system, fonts along with the perfect subject. Thanks for a great valuable design. Great job! Keep up the ultra do the webjob!
